The ward

Where St. Andrew’s Ward is

Ward 2 – St. Andrew’s is bounded by St. David’s Road, Fifteen Mile Creek, Fourth Avenue, Highway 406 and Jacobson Avenue. It takes in a good part of the western side of the city and a share of the downtown core.

St. Catharines has six wards. Each one elects two city councillors, and the city also elects a mayor. That means on October 26 you will vote for a mayor and for two councillors in St. Andrew’s Ward.

Not sure which ward you live in? The City’s ward map and CIVIC Maps tool will tell you by address.

How to vote

Three things to check before October 26

01

Make sure you can vote

You can vote in St. Catharines if you are 18 or older on voting day, a Canadian citizen, and either a resident of the city or an owner or tenant of property here (or the spouse of one), and not otherwise prohibited from voting.

02

Check the voters’ list

The voters’ list opens September 1, 2026. If your name is missing or wrong, you can apply to the City Clerk to have it revised any time up to and including voting day. Bring ID either way.

03

Pick how you’ll vote

Advance polls run Oct. 6 to Oct. 24 on various days at locations across the city, with in-person voting on Oct. 26 and vote-by-mail for electors who cannot get to a poll. Council did not approve online voting for 2026. Advance poll locations and mail-in deadlines are confirmed by the City Clerk.

Official information wins. Poll locations, advance voting dates, vote-by-mail registration and ID requirements are set by the City Clerk. Always confirm at stcatharines.ca/elections or by calling the City Clerk’s office.

Know a neighbour who is not planning to vote?

Municipal elections are decided by a few hundred votes. Ward races get decided by fewer. The single most useful thing you can do for this campaign is make sure the people on your street show up.
